My Angel is the Centerfold

“My blood runs cold, my memory had just been sold” … Scott and I are the centerfold … of a boat catalog. For realzies. Excuse me while I laugh hysterically to myself!

We knew this was coming, kinda sorta. Scott and I work closely with the boating world and last summer we were asked to be “models” (if you can even call us that) for the new series of aluminum fishing boats for Ranger Boats. We know some of the guys that work in this industry and it was a last minute favor to drive over to this lake to take a few sunset photos.

I’m gonna let you in on a couple secrets: 1. We are not fishing pros by any stretch of the imagination, 2. We are goofballs, 3. We had no idea what we were getting ourselves into.

We took off early from work and drove to a lake that was a couple hours away where they were shooting this series of photos. We were in one boat and the photographer was in another. What they failed to tell us (on purpose we later realized) that the lake was full of snakes. Seriously! About an hour before we arrived, one guy was bitten by a cottonmouth and had to be taken to the hospital. But they didn’t tell us until later so that we wouldn’t freak out. Ha! Thanks, dudes!

Fortunately for us, we came away from the whole experience unscathed (and maybe even had a little fun) and have these photos to show for it. I took screenshots of these to share with you all:

Supposedly, all of these photos were just published in their new catalog. One of the guys that works with us approached us at dinner one night while we were on the road and said, “Hey! You guys are in the new Ranger magazine!” Scott and I looked at each other and said, “Uh, oh!” He brought over a copy and showed us that we made the front cover AND the centerfold of the catalog.

We’re famous ya’ll. My white legs and our goofy grins are famous. Let us know if you want our autograph because all this fame is surely going to go to our heads. And this will probably be the only time we are the centerfold of any piece of printed media … so for the rest of the day I will be singing that 1980’s J. Geils Band jam with laughing fits inbetween.
